I'll be honest. Plainfield station is a dive...and that's a great reason to stop in for a few beers and perhaps a burger and fries. There is nothing pretentious about this place. It's rundown and usually quiet. Yet, no matter who was behind the bar, they were friendly. There is a decent selection of good beers. This is not just Budweiser etc. You can get some quality brews here. To top it off, the burgers are very good. I'm getting thirsty and hungry just thinking about it. Recommended.

The last time I was here was in 1965. I had just got my drivers license and we needed some gas. I knew they sold Royal Crown Cola too. The gas pumps are gone and lots of grass has been added but inside it looks exactly like I remembered it. Of course after close to 60 years it is amazing that I remember anything. I do remember a woman pulled up to the gas pump in a 1957 Chevy and wanted gas but could not find where the gas nozzle was supposed to be inserted into her vehicle. As luck would have it someone else showed up in a 1957 Chevy and showed everyone how you flipped the end of the tail fin and there it was, inside the tail fin. Amazing the things one remembers after so many years. I am still kind of shocked to find this bar and grill still in business, but why not! And it is so nice to see that it looks like they are thriving. Finding Plainfield Station Bar and Grill on YELP brought back some really nice memories of my growing up. Thanks to everyone who posted pictures.

Lovely little hangout spot on the country roads. Very divey, biker bar energy. It's bar food but it's pretty good for it. One of yolo counties little gems!

Had first heard of Plainfield from the IT guy back when I used to work in Davis, but never got to stop in until yesterday with my former Woodland coworkers! At the junction of County Road 98 and Road 29 off of Highway 113 between Woodland and Davis is the rural bar and grill. It used to be an auto service station as early as 1934 but the surrounding businesses are long gone now, this one persists! Bad planning on my part, I had just gone to Swagat Indian lunch buffet with my current officemates earlier so I did not have have room for their famous Plainfield burgers/sandwiches (even vegetarian options) this time, nor their reportedly amazing tacos. On any other day I am always down for a bacon cheeseburger. Several of my squad partook, but they devoured them before I arrived so no burger photos. I did, however, manage the fish and chips ($9.50) and upgraded to curly fries ($2), and also got a Blue Moon ($7). No Happy Hour but they do have specials. Beer was ice cold and arrived at table quickly, food was a little slow. The fish and chips were cod fillets, 2 pieces served with lemon slices and tartar sauce. I didn't ask for malt vinegar, ketchup squeeze bottle provided at tables for the fries. The curly fries were piping hot and fresh! Crew also shared an order of the nachos with asada (steak), which were okay. One tab, easy to Venmo. No Taco Tuesday here...apparently their deal on tacos falls on Wednesdays anyway, go figure. I'm not sure how well I'd like their tacos considering Woodland has places like Las Brasas and El Paisano Taco Truck. Anyway, Tuesday though is Karaoke Night starting at 8pm. I do love me some karaoke but my group had already been there for 2 hours until I got there and we all decided to leave before sundown. Bartender and the gal who took our orders and the guy who brought the food out were all very nice. They have a jukebox, pool table, mounted deer head on the wall, darts, TVs for sports watchers. 18 beers on tap, wine but no hard liquor. Didn't see too much of the outdoor area but hear it has a stage for local performers. Another group of patrons brought their little girl and it was fine -- no scary bikers or negative comments/treatment others may have written about regarding discrimination. I will return for a burger soon! P.S. The Plainfield Mural is also a Pokestop.
